CFFPI - Farmland Protection Partnership ProgramThe Center for Farmland Policy Innovation is currently
accepting proposals for the Farmland Protection Partnership Program (FPPP):
2008 Request for Proposal. The Center conducts policy experiments with communities that are leaders in farmland protection in Ohio. The main purpose of the policy experiments is to develop and convey information on likely performance land policy options for Ohio communities, as well as other techniques that should be available, to those who can use it. Further, this Center will conduct carefully defined policy experiments in the field to determine what other methods might be helpful, and what it would take to add them to the list of local land use tools. This land policy laboratory will aid local policymakers achieve what their citizens want through on the ground demonstrations of completed experiments. These experiments will become tangible models for the rest of the state. Applicant communities for these experiments must demonstrate that they are proposing to develop replicable strategies which are new to Ohio, and that they will be willing and able to assist other communities who may wish to implement similar programs in the future. The Center supports successful applicants through funding, technical assistance, and the knowledge and experience of the Center staff and existing national networks of farmland protection experts. Currently we are conducting four experiments in partnership with: Clark County; Wayne, Ashland and Holmes Counties; and the Village of Hiram and Hiram Township. Link to current request for proposals:
